Coming Back to Yourself: The Power of a Morning Ritual

morning ritual tea Aug 26, 2026

After traveling, celebrating, working and moving through a very full season, I’ve been feeling the need to return to myself.

Not through a dramatic overhaul. Not by trying to “make up” for anything. And definitely not by forcing myself into a rigid routine before my body is ready.

I’m returning through my rituals.

The small, intentional practices that help me slow down, reconnect with my body and remember what makes me feel nourished.

One of the first rituals I’ve been returning to is my morning chlorophyll water and herbal tea.

My Morning Chlorophyll Water

I start with spring water, liquid chlorophyll, fresh lemon and a pinch of Celtic sea salt.

Each ingredient has a purpose:

  • Spring water replenishes the fluids my body naturally loses overnight.

  • Chlorophyll provides plant compounds that support the body’s natural detoxification processes and overall cellular wellness.

  • Lemon supports digestion and provides vitamin C and beneficial plant compounds.

  • Celtic sea salt provides trace minerals and helps support hydration and electrolyte balance.

It’s simple, but it immediately makes me feel like I’m intentionally caring for myself before the demands of the day begin.

My Morning Herbal Tea

After my chlorophyll water, I prepare a blend of nettle, oatstraw, peppermint and damiana.

This combination has become one of my favorite ways to begin the day.

  • Nettle is naturally rich in iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium and vitamins A, C and K, and supports overall nourishment and healthy inflammatory balance.

  • Oatstraw nourishes the nervous system and provides minerals that support calm, steady energy.

  • Peppermint supports digestion, mental clarity and a refreshed, energized feeling.

  • Damiana has traditionally been used to support mood, vitality and sensual wellness.

Together, these herbs create a cup that feels both nourishing and awakening—supportive without the overstimulation that can come from immediately reaching for caffeine.

Rituals Help Us Return

A ritual doesn’t have to be elaborate to be powerful.

Sometimes it’s simply drinking water before checking your phone. Steeping herbs while the house is still quiet. Taking a few deep breaths. Sitting in gratitude. Stretching your body. Choosing to begin the morning in conversation with yourself instead of immediately responding to everyone else.

After being away from my normal rhythm, this is exactly what I need.

Something New Is Steeping

My morning tea ritual has also inspired something I’ve been quietly creating.

Soon, I’ll be bringing my personal herbal rituals to you through Prosper Apothecary, a collection of intentionally crafted herbal tea blends designed to support the different rhythms of your day.

The first collection will include:

  • Morning Ritual for energy, hydration and vitality

  • Calm & Centered for balance, clarity and calm

  • Evening Exhale for digestion, relaxation and rest

These are more than bags of herbs. They are invitations to pause, nourish yourself and create moments of intention throughout your day.

The teas aren’t available on the website just yet, but they are coming soon. Email subscribers will be among the first to know when the collection is officially available.

Until then, I’d love to know: What is one ritual that helps you come back to yourself?
