Chocolate for breakfast? Yes, please! These creamy, dreamy chocolate steel cut oats on in your bowl in a hurry thanks to the Instant Pot.

Ingredients

  • 2 large super ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup steel cut oats
  • 1 1/2 cups oat milk (or your favorite plant milk)
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 3 Tbsp cacao powder (can use cocoa powder as a substitute)
  • Pinch of pink sea salt

Toppings:

  • Maple syrup
  • Strawberries
  • Dark chocolate
  • Walnuts
  • Almond butter

Instructions

  1. Combine the oats, plant milk, water, cacao and sea salt in the instant pot and stir well.
  2. Add the mashed bananas on the top of the mixture but do not stir in. Just let them hang out on top.
  3. Seal and cook on high pressure for 9 minutes.
  4. Vent to release pressure. Once pressure has been completely released. Remove lid and stir to mix in bananas.
  5. Serve as is or with toppings.

Enjoy!

Notes: The oats becomes thicker as they cool. To loosen them up (or reheat them) add 1 - 2 Tbsp plant milk until the desired consistency is reached.
